Hi what kind of options do i have to control a camera on a 3 Axis Gimbal ?
Im working with a Black Magic at the moment and i would like to control the stop and trigger the camera. Means i need two free channels. Is this possible when using a ppm input and 3 Axis on the output ?
Regards Jochen

Jochen:
When using all 3 axis and a single G-Lock, there are no spare ports for aux servo outputs. As you also have a signal master (or soon will have ;-) ), I would recommend the following:
Use the Signal Master for the Servo outputs. This takes all the thick servo wires away from the gimbal so they don't impeded the movement. This will use Ports 2+4 on the G-Lock for the HSL bus and leave Port-3 available as an Aux servo output.
If you need another servo output, you can also configure the Signal-Master to output your channel of choice on an output pin and run it down to the gimbal. I have been using the very thin servo cable to run Power+HSL down to the gimbal as it is flexible and light. If you run 2 3-core strands of this cable, you have the 4 wires for the power and HSL, then 2 spare. You could use one of these for your extra servo output (Power and Gnd can come from the G-Lock).
This is the kind of cable I mean: 32AWG Cable
You can also connect your PPM Rx to the Signal-Master and keep it off the gimbal if you wish.

Hi Jochen. I am using the Black Magic Pocket Camera and the Signal Master with the CamRemote 2A with LANC for camera control and an RT Motion follow focus. I just got the Camremote up and running yesterday and I have the follow focus in port 10 of the SM, and Channel 0 of the Camremote in SM port 11 and Channel 1 in Port 12. I then mapped them to switches on the radio (Spectrum DX8.) and I have elected to control record on/off and aperture. One issue I did come across was that my immersion & Kopertworks HDMI converter video downlink only shows the upper level of information on the screen from the pocket which is F stop, iSO etc. Unfortunately the record indicator is on the bottom level of info and does not comes through that downlink. I also have a paralinx and all information from the pocket does come through on that one. I have also tried hooking up a Futaba radio and receiver and running that through port 1 on the G-lock and by-passing the SM and that works very well also Kat

Thanks for the information. Especially what you wrote about the HDMI converter is very interesting. I have the same problem with the REC sign in the BMPC. But i thought that it is the cameras problem.
Does anybody has another HDMI converter thst works and shows everything ? Im using the Kopterworx converter. Regards Jochen

Hi Kari. I have a freefly converter hanging around but I couldn't get it working before with the pocket but will give it another go now that you have had some success. Thanks for the info, seeing 'record' would be a big plus!:-) Kat
