Hey Guys,
I am trying out the BLD's on larger motors for carrying an EPIC. Currently it's a modified FreeFly 3 axis gimbal with 2x DYS 4114 motors (one on tilt, one on roll) and an iPower 8017 on Pan. I am using 3 separate BLDs. One for each axis.
Here are my first 2 flights and will post a handheld video soon (I am beta testing the handheld software as well). I still have some play in the pan and a little bit of twitching on tilt and pan during the flights but it's getting better I believe. This is after one round of tuning after the initial tune on the bench. I am using a 5s battery to power the system. Any input would be great.
Flight Test 1:
Flight Test 2 (After adjusting D and I values on tilt and pan):
I will be doing some handheld test soon and will post those videos when I do.

Here is a handheld test I just did. This is again with a 50mm lens. No Post Stab or IS on the lens. I went through and did a full new re-tune on all axis after the flights. I will be flying again tomorrow and will post those results as well.

Another shoot. This with a 24mm and 85mm lenses. Again no post stab. Still needs a touch of work.

Hey Josh, you just have a bit of bobble on tilt to tune out : what gain settings are you on that axis ?.

I don't remember what they were for that shoot. I have since put a bigger camera on the gimbal and am currently tuning it... RED EPIC! Josh

Wanted to give a little update. I am having a really hard time getting the pan axis to settle down. It is always wobbling when active. Tilt and roll seem pretty solid but it's hard to tell with the pan bouncing around. I am uploading some sample footage for you to see.

Hey Josh,
I’m building a new Octo and was looking to maybe just use a stock Cinestar 360 3-axis gimbal with G-Lock driving the existing servos. Should I even bother or go straight for the brushless option you have perfected? What did you have to do to get the brushless motor mounted to the 360?
