Note: This update is just for the version of the PC app. The new version (1.06) is needed for tuning through the G-Lock connection as the comms speed for the G-Lock has changed. This post will be edited so it contains links to the latest firmware, user manuals and PC software for the brushless driver modules. Details of changes for each version can be found lower in the thread.

Hello John,
How do we get the BLD module into the bootloader mode?

Hi Ozkan,
I've added the draft of the software manual to the post. It is missing the tuning guide which is coming soon, but gives you a description of all the PC software parameters.
The bootloader is like the G-Lock : you short the PC data line as it is powered up - however they are now the top and centre pins of Port-4.

*** Important Update ***
An issue has been found with BLD firmware up to 0.7 which can cause random corruption of the configuration settings inside the BLD module.
This has been traced to side effects of electrical noise and has been fixed for version 0.8 onwards. Please update your BLD modules to be on the safe side. It does not affect all modules as it depends completely on the electrical environment the module is in.
The latest firmware is at the top of this thread.

BLD software version 1.10 is now released. This is a recommended update for all users.
The main changes are:
1) Fixes a problem for uneven pan movement and higher slew rates. The rate is dependent on the gain parameters.
2) Adds a dynamic test mode which automatically drives the gimbal to allow tuning of a moving axis without having to manually move the gimbal (Note: needs G-Lock firmware 1.04).
3) Added 'I-Angle' to the dynamic tuning parameters.
4) Improves PWM driving algorithm : you may need to lower the motor voltage by 10-15%.
Note: Firmware 1.10 onwards needs PC app version 1.03 or higher to support the I-Angle dynamic tuning.

Firmware 0.12 fixed some small 'flat spots' in the PWM drive which could cause vibration at certain positions when using powerful motors on low power settings (eg the tilt axis).
It is a recommended update for all users.

Do the BLD modules exist for purchase? This thread sort of indicates they are...but i don't see them listed on your website? Please let me (us) know. I'm waiting for the new Alexmos board to come out, but it rather give this route a go since I have a bunch of Radians laying around.
Best, DGB

Hey guys, Sorry for the omission - the BLD modules have been complete for some time now and in stock. We will update the information on www.carvecsystem.co.uk to show this and pricing for all the available modules as soon as we can. JohnC

Hello John,
What if custumors do not having a radian lying around. I have a radian gimball but if i want to give tgis riute a try i have to upgrade two radians to G-lock ( one for my "old" gimball and one for a brushless). I think it would be intersting if there would be a G-lock module next to the radian upgrade route. I would be very interested an buy one today together with some BLD modules to give it a try.
Best, Gerard

Hi, Genuine G-Lock stabilisation modules will be available shortly from John The main difference between Radian upgraded to G-Lock and Original upcoming G-Lock is the ease of wiring ( a small tweak is necessary to work on the HSL ports of the "old" radians that are upgraded but nothing hard at all. I'm right now testing the new firmwares and well, now, no more hassle to setup each components, they all " talk" to each other via the HSL link so... Just connect the G-Lock to the USB adapter, and you can program then all modules ( G-Lock or BL modules) via the G-Lock PC port. A very nice time saver. Here is a screenshot with the BL modules software on duty, but the PC link is connected on the G-Lock itself , comminucation is done via the HSL links A good thing to knoiw is that with the High Speed Serial Links, the G-Lock / modules lik is very strong compared to the I2C things. Tested and approved, especially when the gimbal is hooked to HD downlink systems with pwoerful antennas near it... Best regards, Fabien

Version 0.13 of the BLD firmware and 1.0.5 of the PC software are now available which have the following enhancements : 1) Improvements to the accuracy of the PWM drive signals (no 'flat spots') 2) It will now allow tuning across the HSL link whilst connected to the G-Lock. 3) The gain set for each axis in the G-Lock software can be used to 'fine tune' the BLD module gain allowing it to be adjusted using a dial on the transmitter whilst in flight. 4) Some new options for the PC software (such as saving the trace display to a file or loading in example displays from good tuning configurations to compare). When upgrading the G-Lock/BLD, some new options may not be set right. Please read the following checklist during the upgrade and check all is OK : UpgradeToGLock1.07Notes.txt (1.45 KB)

Hi John,
Any change on a Genuine G-Lock module lets say the coming month? I know you are testing but i would really like to finish my brushless gimball in a few weeks for testing and adjustments.
Best regards, Gerard
